This page will serve as a general FAQ (frequently asked questions) page to deal with common questions regarding post-purchase of goods.
MCM Computers provides a warranty on most items. Unless stated otherwise, the warranty is as follows:
Parts and Peripherals
1 year manufacturer's warranty unless stated otherwise
Monitors
3 years on-site manufacturer's warranty
Computer Systems
12 months on parts and labour return to base warranty.
Q: What happens if my product(s) stop working?
A: Depending on what product it is, the first thing you should do is check what kind and length of warranty you have been entitled to by the manufacturer of the product. For example, if your monitor is malfunctioning and it is a new monitor, you will typically be covered by a 3-years-on-site warranty (which means they will come to your house/workplace, exchange your faulty monitor with a replacement). If you have purchased a computer system assembled by MCM Computers, you will automatically be covered by a 12-month-return-to-base warranty (the computer is returned to us, we service it and return it back to you usually on the same day, but can vary). If your warranty has expired your product, if it's a printer or a computer system, we can usually repair it at our repair service costs. A faulty monitor with an expired warranty can be repaired, however MCM Computers do not repair monitors. We do advise to throw away old monitors rather than pay to repair them, because as monitors age numerous faults can arise, repairing them one-by-one would cost more than buying a new monitor that has a fresh new warranty with it!
Q: I bought a product(s) from you, after a week or so I realised I do not like it, can I get my money back?
A: As a general policy, we do not sell goods for test purposes. Due to a very competitive pricing structure that we provide to our customers, we can only accept return of faulty goods (which need to be returned back by a specific amount of time, otherwise handeld by the manufacturer warranty). Therefore customers are required to borne the responsibility to acquire, understand and adopt as much information about the product(s) such as compatibility, features and other relevant details prior to the purchase or order. After purchasing and using a product for a week or so we are unable to take it back for a refund or exchange. Depending on certain circumstances we may make an exception, do not hesitate to speak to us.
